May 2018

Even though we are much further along than we expected to be at this point in time, the drive to launch Sparhawk Academy this coming September from a position of strength continues.  As Bob Sylvain has reported to our incoming families, we have hired the final faculty member to complete our team, we have admitted close to thirty boys in grades 3 through 8, the curriculum and the school day schedule are set, and news of our launch is spreading to many towns and families. I know that Bobhas also encouraged families to visit the property whenever theycan. It is clear to all of us who have spent any time on the property that there is never a bad day to walk the grounds!

I want to highlight that there is much still to do before the boys arrive for the first day of school. We have a short list of priority projects that we think of us “nice-to-have” rather than “mission-critical”. Nevertheless, we as a Board are determined to achieve as much as we can over these next 4 months. To make these dreams as concrete as possible, we have identified the following projects and a best estimate of the costs. We encourage all members of the Sparhawk community to give these projects the consideration they deserve.  We want the buildings and grounds to reflect the same excellence that we have already achieved with our faculty and curriculum. If you can help out by making a contribution or a pledge, or if you can introduce us to otherswho would appreciate our mission and who would be willing to help underwrite one or more of these projects, please reach out to me at TCasey@SparhawkAcademy.org .
