Student life at Sparhawk is not simply a list of clubs or extracurricular activities—although we offer a wide range of opportunities both during and after the school day. Student life at Sparhawk begins the moment the morning bell rings and continues in countless ways throughout the day. From the first handshake at the classroom door to the final practice or club in the afternoon, our campus is alive with purpose, energy, and camaraderie.
Visitors quickly notice that Sparhawk is a place in motion. Boys toss a football with classmates and teachers between classes, gather around a chessboard deep in friendly rivalry, or engage in thoughtful conversation about great works such as St. Augustine’s Confessions. Mentors walk the grounds alongside their mentees, offering guidance and encouragement.
Athletics—both team offerings and adventure sports—play a role in the spirited student life at Sparhawk, with 83% of our students participating in one or more sport. Beyond athletics, a wide array of clubs and activities allows students to explore interests and discover new passions. Hall competitions add another dynamic layer to the Sparhawk experience by fostering healthy competition and a strong sense of belonging.
