Sharpen your math skills and start the school year with confidence at this one-week workshop.
In this program, students will practice the basics operations, such as addition and subtraction, reinforce good study habits to retain information from class best, and learn test-taking skills that will be useful throughout a student’s school career. Habits that will be discussed and practiced in this workshop include: time management and organizational skills, homework and concentration habits, and techniques on how to best optimize time during tests, including standardized testing like MAP testing, all while mastering the fundamental building blocks of math.
This workshop aims to establish a strong foundation in mathematics by practicing the basics so that the students can excel in their math classes later during the school year. In each three hour session, students will spend one and half hours in the classroom, one hour doing interactive and physical activities that will put into practice what was reviewed in the classroom, and a half an hour throughout the morning to provide the students with breaks.
Non-Sparhawk students are welcome as well as prospective students because the academic habits learned from this program are universally valuable in any school setting.
